Oh No!

by Blair Borax

/

about

I wrote this song last fall, as I contemplated the process of growing up and growing old; and finding and losing and finding love over and over again.
(There is always love to be found. You just need to look in the right places.)

lyrics

Breaks and bruises, aches and pains
Sags and droops, youth, you age
In sickness and in health, they say
With you, I’d like to spend my days
Your eyes and ears, your mouth and nose
Your shoulders, head, your knees, your toes
Oh, all hail these brittle bones
How long can they hold all my woes?
~
Oh no! Where does the time go?
One day you’re young and blink you’re old
Oh no! Next thing you know
You might not have a hand to hold
~
Wounds and wishes, scars and scrapes
Can you learn my fears and my mistakes?
Mama said, love ain’t easy
It sure as hell ain't point A to point B
My lover, be my friend
I hope I don’t get fooled again
~
Oh no! Where does the time go?
One day you’re young and blink you’re old
Oh no! Next thing you know
You might not have a hand to hold
Oh no! Where does the time go?
